WIMS Membership & Benchmarks

The Women in Medicine and Science (WIMS) Organization for the University of Kansas School of Medicine (SOM) current membership includes all women members of the faculty in the School of Medicine plus male faculty colleagues interested in issues related to the professional growth and advancement of women in academic medicine. Membership is open to both our physician and basic science faculty members.

WIMS Membership

Currently, there are over 250 SoM women represented by WIMS at KUMC on the Kansas City Campus. The SOM WIMS roster includes full, part time and volunteer faculty at all stages of their careers. We hope to soon provide Rosters for the School of Nursing and School of Health Professions, Residents, Post-docs and Students.

"Never underestimate the power of belief when it comes to fulfilling your dreams. I can say with no hesitation that every person I've ever met who has achieved any degree of success has one thing in common: they believed with all their heart they could do it."
