Dr. Ajay K. Nangia is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Nangia received his medical degree from St. Thomas and Guy’s Hospital Medical School in London, U.K. He completed his General Surgery internship and one year of General Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed his Urology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as well. He also completed a Male Infertility and Microsurgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Nangia has spent time in private practice and then six years at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.
Dr. Nangia is a member of the American Urological Association, Society of Male Reproduction and Urology, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American College of Surgeons, and Society of University Urologists, He is Chair of the Ethics Committee of the American Society of Andrology, Board Member of the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR), to name a few.
He has written several peer-reviewed journal articles in the field of urology including male infertility and vasectomy reversal microsurgery. He reviews for a number of urology and fertility journals and has lectured nationally and regionally. He is the Clinical Director of Andrology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Nangia’s special interests in the field of urology are microsurgery, andrology, male infertility, and is actively involved with research in male contraception, as well as the study of vitamin D in sperm/testicular physiology.
