As a top executive of one of the world's
largest health care and HIT companies, Dr. Nace is a
nationally-recognized expert on health information
technology in such contexts as managed care, workplace-oriented
programs, benefit plan design, disease management, health
promotion, and
work-life balance. He is the founding principal of Healthcare
Strategy Solutions and has held key leadership roles in U.S.
health care policy and financing strategies since the early 1990s.

David Cook,
PhD (panel moderator), is the Associate
Vice Chancellor, Office of Outreach, at the University
of Kansas Medical Center, where he serves as the
Chief Operating
Officer of the institution’s Outreach
and Institutional Advancement divisions. He is
also an Associate Professor in the
School of Medicine with teaching, research and
service responsibilities.
Michael Atwood, MD, currently serves
as the Chief Medical Officer for Blue Cross and Blue
Shield
of Kansas. Prior
to joining BCBSKS,
he was a practicing family physician and for
14 years served on the senior leadership team at Stormont-Vail
HealthCare in Topeka, KS.
He directed the physician use of the clinic
electronic
medical record at Cotton-O’Neil clinic
from 2004 until joining BCBSKS in 2009.
Jim Hansen is President and CEO
of CareEntrust, the first operational employer-sponsored
health
information
exchange.
CareEntrust is
an independent, non-profit organization based
in Kansas City delivering a secure regional
health record service
for use by health care
providers and consumer/patients to improve
the safety, quality and efficiency of health care.

Chris Tilden, PhD, is the Director of the Office
of Local and Rural Health (OLRH) at the Kansas Department
of Health and Environment
(KDHE) and has been working in the OLRH since 2001.
