
Dr. Ryan Spaulding is the Director of the Center for Telemedicine and Telehealth at Kansas University Medical Center and administers all telehealth projects, research activities and daily operations of the department. He works closely with the department’s Medical Director in establishing the Center’s clinical, educational and technological priorities for the provision of telemedicine service to communities in Kansas City and across Kansas.
Dr. Spaulding has authored and co-authored several published articles and book chapters on the use of health information technologies in the delivery of health care, particularly to medically undeserved areas. He currently serves as a member of the Kansas Hospital Association’s Council on Health Delivery and as an Advisory Board member for the new Center for Telenursing and Health Informatics of the Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Spaulding received his PhD from the University of Kansas and previously earned BS and MA degrees from Central Michigan University. He is a member of the American Telemedicine Association and the National Communication Association.
