Kathy Davis, BS, MSEd, PhD is the pediatric education coordinator in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She has 32 years experience working with young people with chronic and life-limiting illnesses in the areas of education, child life, palliative care and ethics. Dr. Davis provides educational support, palliative care, and ethics consultation to hospitalized and outpatient youngsters, their families and school communities.
Dr. Davis is the project manager of Connected Kansas Kids, a program that provides a variety of interactive distance learning presentations on health topics to education professionals and K-12 students. She is also a Training Supervisor for the Center for Children’s Health and Development (CCHD) providing education to trainees, graduate and post-graduate students.
Dr. Davis completed a PhD at the University of Kansas. Previously, she earned a BS and MSEd degrees from KU. Dr. Davis is co-chair of the Pediatric Ethics Committee and of the Pediatric Palliative Care Committee at KUMC, a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and a member of the U.S. Bone and Joint Decade.
