John A. Goodwin, MDDr. Goodwin joined the department of Telemedicine in 2006 after being with Pediatrics for over ten years.
Dr. Goodwin received his undergraduate training in Chemistry at the University of Kansas, graduating with highest distinction in 1982. He recieved his MD from KU Medical School in 1986 and attended Children's Mercy Hospital, completing his residency in 1989. After spending six years in private practice he returned to KU to join the department of Pediatrics in 1995.
Dr. Goodwin left clinical practice in 1997 due to disability and subsequently focused his energies on development of the pediatric web site, educational materials for the residents and students, and the annual pediatric charity golf trounament.
In 2006 Dr. Goodwin was given the opportunity to join the department of Telemedicine at KU. After obtaining additional certification in Microsoft Access, SQL, and ASP.NET, he is heavily involved in the departmental website and management and analysis of the Telemedicine Encounter database. He provides data support for the other members of the department through data extraction and analysis.
