After completing medical school at the Armed Forces Medical
College in Pune, India – one of India’s best, Dr.
Vamanan did his surgical training at The Montefiore Medical Center
in New York and at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Chicago. Dr.
Vamanan joined the faculty at KU in 2006 after completing his
fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Hartford Hospital, The University
of Connecticut.
Dr. Vamanan specializes in open and endovascular therapy for
all vascular disease and is one of few surgeons that is a member
of the Society of Interventional Radiology.
Out of work, he is a keen golfer and plays chess, bridge and table
tennis. He has a bachelor’s degree in Indian classical music.
He loves to travel and can suggest a few good restaurants and bottles
of wine. He lives in Kansas City with his wife Rashna and their
Australian Shepherd Emmy.
