Dr. Alley is a native Kansan. After high school and his
first couple of years in college, Dr. Alley joined the US Army
in 1991. After serving his first 4 year tour (he served
a total of 10 years) he returned to college in 1995 at Pittsburg
State University and completed his Bachelor’s of Science
in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Physics. He attended
medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine
and graduated with the class of 2002. After medical school,
he completed his General Surgery training at KUMC as well.
On July 1, 2007, Dr. Alley joined the faculty at KUMC as a teaching
surgeon and will be spearheading a new Emergency General Surgery
service at the medical center. His main interests include
emergency, laparoscopic and hernia surgery.
Dr. Alley is married with four wonderful children (3 girls and
a boy) and when he is not working, he enjoys skydiving, gourmet
cooking, fine wines, and premium cigars.
