Department of Surgery

Welcome to the Department of Surgery. We would like to thank you for your interest in our department and our residency programs.

It is a pleasure for me to introduce the members of the Department. 
The Surgical Education Committee has worked tirelessly to ensure that all the Residency Programs (General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Plastic Surgery) are in compliance with those standards developed by their respective Residency Review Committee.

I am convinced that we have been extremely successful.  New faculty members have been added to the Department bringing additional expertise in Burn, Oncologic, Minimally Invasive, Transplant, and Emergency General Surgery.

We have been fortunate to have the support of the CEO of the Hospital, Bob Page and Barbara Atkinson, M.D. the Dean and Executive Vice Cancellor.  Their support has been instrumental in the development of the Department and in improving the Residency Programs.

We are optimistic about the future of our department.
