Elective Course Prerequisites

The student may complete the remainder of the required 62 credit hours in liberal arts and sciences electives or in non-liberal arts electives such as physical education, technique courses in art, music and in professional fields other than nursing. A maximum of 8 credit hours in non-liberal arts electives will apply toward the required 62 credit hours.

Electives may be chosen according to the student's particular interests or personal needs. Take care to determine that each course completed will be transferable to the University of Kansas. Certain college preparatory courses such as English skills, typing, remedial math, introductory and intermediate algebra, religion courses specific to one denomination, and certain professional courses not offered at the University of Kansas do not transfer for degree credit. There is no age limit on the transferability of courses.

Credit hours earned by CLEP exam or other challenge exam procedures must meet criteria set by the university or the Board of Regents in order to be accepted for transfer.
