Regalia

Important note below about the the process to purchase/rent regalia:

STUDENTS: If you will graduate in Spring 2011, or if you will be a Summer 2011 or Fall 2011 graduate and intend to participate in Recognition Ceremony in May, please review the message below, and get your regalia ordered from the KUMC Bookstore ASAP.

POST-MASTER'S CERTIFICATE COMPLETERS ONLY (i.e., you are not also enrolled in the MS program): you do not need regalia to participate in Recognition Ceremony; dressy "street clothes" are appropriate.

FACULTY: If you do not have regalia and wish to rent it, you may also do so through the Bookstore.

Bachelor's and master's degree regalia is available for purchase in the bookstore or online at kumedbooks.com. Doctoral and faculty rent their regalia, visit the bookstore or call 913-588-2548 by March 18. Payment is required at the time of order. A minimum $15.00 late fee will be charged for all orders received after March 18 to cover additional shipping charges. Late orders can not be guaranteed delivery or correct hood colors.

The School of Nursing Recognition Ceremony is an academic ceremony in which faculty will process with the graduates. Students and faculty will wear the following regalia (listed by degree level):

• BSN Graduates—cap with apricot tassel, gown (Basic BSN & RN-BSN)
  
  
• MS Graduates—cap with black tassel, Master’s gown, Master of Science KU hood—Gold velvet edge (tentative August 2010 and December 2010 graduates may wear or carry their hood)
  
  
• Post Masters Certificate completers—your choice of MS cap/gown/hood or dressy street clothes
  
  
• PhD Graduates—cap/beret with short black tassel, Doctoral gown, Doctor of Philosophy KU hood--Dark blue velvet edge (all PhD graduates will carry their hoods until the hooding ceremony later in the day).
  
  
• Faculty—cap/beret with appropriate tassel, gown, and hood as appropriate for highest degree earned.
