Dr. Kramer-Jackman joined the KU School of Nursing as a part-time clinical
assistant professor in 2007 and started a full-time teaching position Fall
2008.
Her work experience includes a position as family nurse practitioner for a
retail clinic, where she diagnosed and treated common family illnesses for
patients over 18 months of age. In addition to her health care duties, she
autonomously ran the business aspects of the clinic. Dr. Kramer-Jackman also
has experience as a critical care nurse where she treated trauma patients and
critically ill patients.
During her doctoral studies at the University of Kansas, Dr. Kramer-Jackman was
a graduate teaching assistant for a number of different courses and for the nursing
skills lab. In the lab, she assisted students with hands-on demonstrations of
nursing technical skills, taught rationale and evaluated students for competency.
From Sept. 10 – 22, 2004, Dr. Kramer-Jackman completed an internship
with the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO). During this internship, she
helped develop criteria for selecting proposals for an indigenous populations
grant, helped select journal articles for publication in the PAHO journal,
helped develop a Web site for nursing and midwifery services, wrote a proposal
for a small projects grant and helped gather data for the mapping of
the nursing and midwifery profile in the Americas.
