Lorraine P. Buchanan, MSN, RN, is a clinical instructor at the KU School of Nursing where she teaches N375 and 376 Nursing of Children- The peds level 2 undergraduate course. In the fall, she was the lead for N340/341 for Maternity Portion of Foundations of Nursing and Health Promotion. She also teaches a new course working with vulnerable children in Kansas City, Kan.; teaches N327 Communication and Managing Health Care Information; Health and Illness II Across the Lifespan; and online Pharmacology for the RN-BSN program. Buchanan also enjoys participating with educational research.

Buchanan has experience teaching health management of children and adolescents, nutrition; and leading clinical health assessments, fundamentals of nursing and health care and nursing of adults. In 2001, Buchanan received the Children’s Mercy Hospital Service Outstanding Service Award
