A family nurse practitioner, Domian has dedicated her career to providing healthcare and health education to minorities and underserved populations as well as to preparing the next generation of nurses. As a clinical instructor at the KU School of Nursing, Domian splits her time between teaching and clinical practice. Practicing at the Cabet Westside Clinic, Domian provides comprehensive healthcare to Spanish-speaking, Hispanic women while also providing valuable clinical experiences for her students.

With a four-year National Research Service Award, Domian conducted a qualitative, ethnographic study identifying the relationship between cultural factors and positive birth outcomes, which served as the foundation for her doctoral dissertation. Domian carries memberships in such organizations as the American Association of University Women, American Nurses' Association, American Public Health Association, Missouri Nurses' Association, Missouri Prenatal Association and Sigma Theta Tau International.
