Jan Davidson joined the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 1990 as teaching associate. Currently, Davidson teaches graduate level primary care clinical courses and has a faculty practice in a family planning and prenatal clinic with the Wyandotte County Health Department. Her faculty practice incorporates primary care students.

Davidson is currently rounding out a three-year term as member of the KU School of Nursing Faculty Practice Committee during which she has served as committee chair and participated in developing and refining family nurse practitioner courses.

After receiving her diploma of nursing from Mercy School of Nursing, Davidson went on to earn her bachelor's degree in nursing from Southwest Missouri State University. She earned her master's degree in emergency nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and completed a post-master's program for family nurse practitioner with Wichita State University. She is certified as family nurse practitioner by American Nurses Credentialling Center.
