Eileen Amari-Vaught joined KU Health Partner’s Silver City Health Care Center in 2007 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Silver City Health Care Center is a nurse managed, safety net clinic offering primary care across the lifespan. She has served as a preceptor to several graduate nursing students. Amari-Vaught joined the clinic staff shortly after graduating from the MSN program at KU School of Nursing in 2007. Prior to completing her MSN, Amari-Vaught worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Truman Medical Center and as a nurse at the Student Health and Wellness Center on the campus of the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Amari-Vaught’s doctoral dissertation focused on the limitations of the principle of autonomy when applied to ethical issues involving family caregivers.  She explored the concept of trust as an alternative model for ethical decision making within families.  Amari-Vaught has taught and lectured on a variety of topics in Ethics and Health Care Ethics at several colleges and Universities.  Professional affiliations include Sigma Phi Omega UMKC chapter, Sigma Theta Tau Delta Chapter, American Nurses Association and Kansas Nurses Association.
