Proctor Process

  1. You must work with us to find an acceptable site and proctor in your community. Acceptable Kansas sites include the Area Health Education Centers in Pittsburg, Hays, and Garden City. Other universities, local community colleges, testing centers or libraries will be considered and proctors at these sites will need to be approved.
  2. You must have the proctor complete the agreement form (in Acrobat PDF format) and return at least 4 weeks prior to the date for which you are planning to sit for the examination. You will be notified of approval in writing. Send this information to: Via US Mail Dr. Helen Connors, RN, PhD Associate Dean/Academic Affairs University of Kansas School of Nursing 3901 Rainbow Blvd. Kansas City, KS 66160-7502 USA Via Fax 913-588-1660 Via E-mail hconnors@kumc.edu
  3. The cost for taking each examination by proctor is $25.00 for administrative costs plus posting fees of $12.50 per course. You must send two separate checks for the exam, one for the administrative costs and one for the posting fee. Both fees must be paid in full before we send the examination to the proctor. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the University of Kansas School of Nursing and sent to Dr. Connors at the above address. In the event that you do not pass the examination, the posting fees will be returned to you.
  4. The examination will be mailed directly to the proctor after we receive the fee and signed letter of agreement. You will need a photo ID in order to be allowed to sit for the examination.
  5. The proctor should immediately return the examination and the answer sheet in the return postpaid envelope sent to them with the exam.
