Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

 

DNP Entry Options

For the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic years the KU School of Nursing DNP program is a post-master's-only program.

Admission Criteria
(Post-Master's DNP Program)

  1. Completion of a master's degree in nursing or nurse anesthesia from a nationally accredited program.
  2. Preference is given to those who earned a 3.25 GPA in the master's program; minimum GPA earned in the master's program to be considered is 3.0.
  3. Potential for leadership and application of scholarship in nursing.
  4. Potential to provide expert advanced clinical care.
  5. In the case of international students, TOEFL or IELTS scores will be considered.

Admission Criteria
(Post-Baccalaureate DNP Program, available beginning fall 2010)

  1. Completion of a BSN from a nationally accredited program.
  2. Preference is given to those who have a 3.5 GPA in the BSN program; minimum GPA earned in the BSN program to be considered is 3.0.
  3. Potential for leadership and application of scholarship in nursing.
  4. Potential to provide expert advanced clinical care.
  5. In the case of international students, TOEFL or IELTS scores will be considered.
