Application Deadlines for Fall 2010

October 15, 2009:  Applications are due. We will allow a grace period to receive late items over which the applicant has no control: college transcripts and late references. Contact Alice DeBauche (913-588-1680) to make arrangements for late materials.

 The following list indicates all of the parts of the application which must be submitted:

  • Parts 1 and 2 of the online application;
  • Three references;
  •  Non-refundable application fee (submitted online at the end of Part 1);
  • College transcripts from all colleges and universities attended; and
  • TOEFL scores, if applicable.

January 15, 2010:  All late items, plus your Fall grades and Spring/Summer Enrollment form are due.  A Spring/Summer Enrollment Form will be sent to you by December, 2009, with your prerequisite evaluation form.  Please return the completed form with a copy of your Fall, 2009, grades to:

Admissions Timetable

Applicants may check whether materials have been received at any time by accessing the online application, logging in, and clicking on “Status” in the corner of the webpage. A period of 2 weeks will be allowed to submit the missing material. The University of Kansas School of Nursing reserves the right to extend the October 15 deadline if it is determined that an insufficient number of completed applications have been returned on that day. However, it is in the best interest of the applicant to complete the application prior to October 15 in case the deadline is not extended.

A personal file is created for the applicant upon receipt of Part 2 of the online application. Part 1 and Part 2 are major sources of information needed to evaluate your application according to the criteria described  in the “Description of Curriculum” webpage. Fill them out completely. Do not omit anything in the online application.

Submit all parts if the application by the stated deadlines. There are usually more applicants than there are spaces available, so it is in the best interest of the applicant to submit all items on time. The completion of the application is the student’s responsibility. Unsigned or incomplete applications will not be considered. The application and all items submitted in support of the application become the property of the University of Kansas and cannot be returned.

Admission decisions are made by mid-March.  Every active applicant will receive a letter indicating the decision.  Therefore, it is important to report address changes promptly.
