Registered Nurse-to-Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program


The RN-to-BSN program at the KU School of Nursing provides registered nurses a way to complete their bachelor's degrees in a flexible, online format. No on-campus time is required and classes are accessible 24 hours a day. The program can be completed in as little as one calendar year of full-time study or up to five years of part-time study.

Complete your bachelor's degree in three easy steps:

Step 1: Complete Prerequisite Courses

Sixty credits of liberal arts and sciences courses are required prior to admission. See all requirements

Step 2: Submit Your Application

Applications (including transcripts and references) must be submitted by the deadline appropriate for your anticipated start date: October 1 (for spring semester admission); March 1 (summer); June 1 (fall). Details

Step 3: Complete the KU BSN courses

The online RN-to-BSN program provides you with the ultimate in scheduling flexibility and convenience. No on-campus time is required and classes are accessible 24 hours a day. Curriculum

Application to the program is open at all times. Students can start the program at any semester.


The University of Kansas School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs through June 30, 2023.  An autonomous arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, CCNE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to accredit undergraduate and graduate degree programs in nursing.
