Financial Aid & Scholarships

Financial aid is available through scholarships, loans, work-study, traineeships and research and teaching assistantships.

• Traineeships: Federal money may be awarded to the School of Nursing for graduate students. Amount of funding varies per year and may pay tuition with a monthly stipend. Students must be enrolled full-time and in an advanced practice clinical area of study.
• School of Nursing Endowment Scholarships: Money made possible by gifts from the School's alumni and friends. Students must have completed at least 9 credit hours of graduate study and be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the award term. Scholarships are awarded to graduate students each semester.
• Research and Teaching Assistantships: Students work up to 20 hours per week in exchange for tuition waiver and hourly wages. More information about GTA positions.
• Nurse Faculty Loan Program: Federal funding to help graduate students who plan to become nursing faculty members upon graduation.  Eighty-five percent ( 85%) of the loan can be forgiven if the graduate works as a faculty member for four years. The loan can be used for tuition, fees, books, and educational supplies.
• Kansas Board of Regents Nurse Educator Scholarship: Applicants must be Kansas residents, and may be enrolled part-time. This program pays up to 70% of tuition and fees.
