Jamie Myers, PhD, RN, AOCN, adjunct assistant professor, joined the University of Kansas School of Nursing during the Spring 2011 semester. Dr. Myers is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri.
Dr. Myers is an oncology clinical nurse specialist and scientific director. In that position she coordinates activities related to the conduct of oncology clinical trials and the exchange of scientific information between her organization and three national research networks. She also is responsible for educating research network staff about the mechanisms of action and emerging trial data related to the clinical trials and the drug development pipeline. She meets regularly with research network executives and staff to identify and resolve issues pertinent to the clinical trial partnership. Dr. Myers' areas of research interest are survivorship issues and side effect management for individuals with cancer. She is conducting ongoing research in the area of chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment.
