Diane Boyle, PhD, RN
Associate Professor
Following her keen interests in registered nurse workforce issues and job satisfaction, Diane Boyle, PhD, RN, is deputy director of the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators® (NDNQI). NDNQI is a repository for longitudinal data from over 1800 acute care hospitals across the United States on nurse staffing, nurse turnover, and nursing sensitive patient outcome indicators. Specifically, Dr. Boyle has responsibility for the NDNQI Research Team.
Dr. Boyle has taught measurement, program evaluation, research, and leadership courses in the masters and doctoral programs. She also has taught a number of classes in the KU Medical Center's Virtual Classroom. Over the past 18 years Dr. Boyle has supervised 70 post-doctoral, PhD, masters and BSN honors students in research projects and dissertations. She has been honored with the Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Classroom Teaching, a Kemper Fellowship, and the KU Medical Center's Faculty Investigator Research Award. She is an active member of AcademyHealth, Midwest Nursing Research Society, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
