Clinical Research Management

Working as a research leader, the Clinical Research Management track within the Master of Science in Nursing program will prepare individuals for entry to mid-level clinical management positions, with potential for promotion to executive level positions in a variety of research settings.  This program is suited for novice or advanced beginner managers, and advanced practice clinicians who have potential for clinical research leadership at the advanced level. 

The University of Kansas (KU) School of Nursing (SoN) Clinical Research Management Track within the Master of Science in Nursing Program is a graduate program designed to prepare clinical research professional with competencies and skills related to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and research related to conducting clinical trials, institutional Review Boards and Regulations, and Ethical issues.  Additionally the clinical research professional will develop skills related to research on organizational behavior, quality measurement and risk management, fiscal operations, systemic change and project program case management.   Specialized skills in communication and organizational politics and program development, implementation, and impact analysis will be acquired.   Graduate students will be able to enroll in the Master of Science in Nursing that includes the Clinical Research Management track.

This track requires 41 semester credit hours.  Some of the courses for the program currently are available online via the Internet, and some are offered in the in-class venue.
