Wichita Campus

Student Coordinating Council. The SCC is the decision-making body for Wichita medical students. Elected members represent their classmates on matters relating to curricular and extracurricular activities. The SCC also fosters a spirit of student involvement in the achievement of high standards of scholarship, leadership, and service to the community and the university.

Student Interest Groups. Several interest groups on the Wichita campus encourage students to gain an understanding of specialty choices. The Family Medicine Interest Group , Pediatric Interest Group Psychiatry Interest Group, and the Internal Medicine Interest Group hold regular meetings.

American Medical Association - Medical Student Section. The AMA-MSS includes medical students in the development and promotion of standards in medical practice, research, and education. In addition to regular meetings, students are involved with the Sedgwick County Medical Society and the Kansas Medical Society and participate in national meetings.

Jager Society. A local history of medicine club has four meetings a year. Students are encouraged to participate in this informative event to socialize with local physicians and their spouses and hear a presentation by a noted medical historian.

Ambassadors. The Wichita Ambassadors represent medical students and medical education on the Wichita campus, serve in an outreach role to the city of Wichita and the surrounding communities, helping area citizens understand the role of the campus and serve as liaisons to students and pre-medical advisors in high schools, colleges, and universities around Wichita and throughout the state of Kansas.
