Antibiotic solutions should be made in 100 to 1000-fold concentrated stock solutions and filter sterilized (not necessary for ethanol solutions) and stored in the cold. Tetracycline solutions should be wrapped in foil. When making agar plates, cool agar to 55°C before adding antibiotic.
