How To Send a Secure Email

 

NOTE:  As of January 21, 2009, secure email is now available to all employees without pre-registration. 

There are two ways to send a secure, encrypted email:

  1. Add the word "[secure]" at the beginning of the subject line of the email as shown below. Be sure to include the brackets but do not include the quote marks). Putting the word [secure] anywhere other than the beginning of the subject line will not encrypt the message.

    ** NOTE:  The subject line of the email is not encrypted; therefore, you should not include sensitive information in subject line of the email.

  2. Click on the button on the GroupWise toolbar. Clicking this button will insert the "[secure]" into the email subject line for you automatically.
