Most laptops, notebooks or tablets that are used to access the KUMC network are already automatically configured by Information Resources to request your username and password before allowing you to use the computer or access KUMC's network or systems.

Configuring Password Protection on Windows 2000/XP

Examples of the three types of login screens that may be present on computers running the Windows operating system are provided below in Figures 1 through 3.  If you do NOT see one of these login screens when you power on your computer, then password protection has not been configured on it.

if you need assistance with configuring password protection, please contact Customer Support with any questions or problems at 913-588-7995 or submit a help request ticket on the Customer Self-Service site.
