Areas of Emphasis:
1) Improve appearance to the public, potential students & their parents, and donors. Correct and prevent broken links and outdated content; ensure details commonly expected by students are provided in logical fashion – these items are known to hurt perception of the school and its programs, esp. students' view of KU's on-line educational ability – ensure ADA compliance; interconnect resources between school units and KU campuses more closely.
2) Easy access and streamlined process for applicants. Total educational costs, application process & requirements, and advising contacts should be immediately apparent and easy to follow and complete.
3) Expanded information on the career, the professional field. Consider prospective students as young as 14 (8-9 grade) and older students from non-health care backgrounds who may not possess a solid understanding of Health Information Management as an exciting and rewarding profession.
4) Improve technical foundation for sites. Reduce Web site maintenance required of faculty and improve text content, increase visual impact with images, comply with new KU identity, reduce "Web rot" and duplication, prevent errors, reduce needless inquiries by phone to Dean's Office, Advisors and Dept.; remove unneeded files from Web servers; separate course content from main Web site.
