Training

Introduction:

Initial and periodic training is required by many Federal and State regulations. In addition, the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) and the University of Kansas Hospital require employee training so personnel can carry out their jobs safely and efficiently. For the most part, KUMC uses CHALK for safety training for its availability and ease of tracking.

Instructions for completing Safety Training online using CHALK for University, KUPI and Research Institute employees and students:

  1. Go to this website: Environment, Health & Safety Training
  2. Click on the appropriate training you are required to take.
  3. Pass any associated tests. Note: You will have to login using your KUMC login name and password when taking the tests.

Instructions for completing Safety Training online using CHALK for Guest Users (individuals who do not have a KUMC network or GroupWise account)

Guest Access

If you do not have a KUMC network account and need a guest account, click here for the Chalk Courtesy User Request Form. Guest Accounts are only for individuals not formally affiliated with KUMC who need access the Chalk online training system. If you are an employee or student at KUMC, please request an account through your department contact. Please note it can take up to three days to create an account.

In Person Training Schedule: When necessary, arrangements can be made to train groups of employees on individual topics.

LifeSlider Training Video

LifeSlider is a secure and effective method of evacuating disabled individuals from upper floors in an emergency. This 15 minute video will show you how to prepare the LifeSlider, prepare it for descent and how to store it.
