The University’s Environment Health and Safety Office and Computer Security Office are pleased to assist you in the proper disposal of computer and electronic equipment. This equipment is collected and recycled, reducing the university’s waste generation rates and helping others by providing computer equipment that they might not otherwise be able to obtain.
We can only accept computer equipment. Please contact Facilities or the Environment, Health and Safety office for assistance in properly disposing any other equipment, especially equipment containing hazardous materials (e.g. refrigerators with freon, pumps with pump oil, gamma counters with calibration sources, etc.).
We cannot accept any University of Kansas Hospital Authority equipment. Questions on disposal of Hospital equipment can be answered by contacting the Hospital Help Desk at extension 8-4894.
All data is wiped from the computer hard drives by the recycling company helping us with this effort.
