KRC.0801.1603.04 Family Physician without OB for growing community health center. Physician will work in a federally qualified health center to care for children and adults of all ages in a family practice setting with some supervisory duties of mid-level providers and hospital care. The physician will work closely with current staff, which includes 3.5 FTE physicians, 2 part time volunteer physicians, and 1.5 FTE NPs. We are one of only two healthcare clinics in a city of over 42,000 people. We are the only clinic who serves the under-and uninsured in the County. We are about to begin construction of an $8 million facility. Achieved Level II Patient Centered Medical Home Certification. Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) since 2007; 18 edam rooms; vision exam room, small laboratory, full dental center, and more. Position Description and Expectations: -Elicits and records information about patients' medical history. -Examines patient to determine general physical condition. -Orders or executes various tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. -Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs. -Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene and methods for prevention of disease. -Refers patients to specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. -Performs minor surgery. -Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, industrial medicine or eligibility for insurance coverage. -Provides hospital care for PSHC pediatric patients requiring hospitalization. -Supervises the health care of chronically ill patients. -Treats walk-in patients. -The equivalent of 4,200 patient visits per full-time provider per year is expected. -Supervises the practice of one or more physician assistant or registered nurse practitioner. This is a fast-paced atmosphere with a cohesive team of medical professionals who care about the mission of the organization to serve the community in which they live. Salary of $180,000.
