Job Description:
Medical Center is looking for a full-time Nurse that is seeking a very competivie wage and excellent fringe benefit program to join their team. Your responsponsibilties would include managing, supervising and coordinating the operations of ER and ICU departments by performing the needed duties. Select, schedule and assign staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary. Perform staff nurse duties for 50% of assigned work week. Serve as the Trauma Coordinator, insuring compliance with requirements. Orient new staff and coordinate activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service connected to Simply the Best Standards. Job Requirements Must be an RN with the state of Kansas. BSN preferred. Must have CPR and ACLS certifications also. RN experience with good technical skills. Successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills. Requires basic computer literacy within a Windows environment, including word processing functions, use of the internet, and computer-based education. Keyboarding ability required. Experience using CPSI documentation software will be an asset, to include nursing assessments, electronic MAR with bedside barcode scanning, and Computerized Physician Order Entry. For applicants seeking employment in the ER, experience with allscripts ED documentation software will be a plus, to include electronic triage, medication administration, and nursing documentation. Successful candidates should be ready to use information technology in a meaningful way, in order to improve patient outcomes and ensure patient safety.

Community Description:
Deemed the "Gateway to the High Plains," the area is a rolling plain of green grassland, broken by the Ninnescah River and the hills along the Elm and Turkey creeks. Pratt is home to the Miss Kansas Pageant, a preliminary to the Miss America Pageant. Three Miss America's have come from the program that is held annually the first full week in June. In addition to the competition, an evening parade and host of other activities fill the week. The Pratt County Historical Museum is recognized as one of the most complete and varied museums in the State. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Nature Education Center is located in a renovated 80+ year-old building that contains numerous wildlife mounts, dioramas, and live aquariums, to name a few. There is no admission charge for either museum. Pratt boasts 180 acres of park system including the beautiful Lemon Park Nature Trail, walking paths, playgrounds, Frisbee golf, and much more. Wood sculptures by chainsaw artist Clayton Coss adorn parks, the Courthouse lawn, and other places throughout the city. Ball diamonds, the Walter Blake Tennis Complex, golf courses, and swimming pool all provide outdoor opportunities. Add hunting, fishing and Pratt County Veteran's Memorial Lake to the agenda and there is something for everyone. Shopping enthusiasts can find unique specialty shops, antiques, gift items, clothing and great places to eat. The Hot & Cold Water Towers began as a practical joke but have become an attraction for sightseers and photographers. The Barron Theater remains a showcase of architectural design and continues to have first run movies and accommodates twin screens. Roller Skating, bowling and community events round out activities in Pratt. There are more than 300 motel rooms available in Pratt, which includes a Bed & Breakfast that is on the Historical Register. Pratt has a good school system and home to a community college.
