Job Description:
KRC.1216.0823.02 - A regional healthcare system is currently searching for a Sonographer to join our growing team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Performs such testing as 2-Dimensional Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography, Contrast Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Bubble studies. • Demonstrates competency in ensuring patient safety at all times. • Effectively communicates with patients, family members, hospital staff and physicians. • Provides appropriate patient care and anticipates patient/family needs and comfort. • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI). • Serves a population newborn through geriatric. • Required to participate in rotating call schedule with a 30 minute response time. • Required to participate in rotating holiday schedule. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: • Knowledge of cardiac sonography. • Basic computer skills • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: • Competent in contrast usage. • Experience with stress echocardiography MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Graduate of approved medical sonography program PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • 1 year experience REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in the field of cardiology (RDCS/RCS) or within 6 months of hire. • Healthcare Provider BLS – if BLS is not American Heart Association BLS is required within three months of hire Other Income Details This position qualifies for both night shift (10%) and weekend premiums ($1.00/hr). This postion also requires being available "on-call" and has pay asociated with that.
