Registration and Abstracts
Abstracts for the first combined Resident, Postdoc and Fellow Research Day may be submitted from Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 12 noon until Monday, April 2, 2012 by 12:00 p.m. Registration can be submitted from any computer with Internet access on- or off-campus. Please use Internet Explorer (IE). All abstracts for oral and poster presentations must be submitted online no later than 12 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 by 12 p.m.
Abstract Submission requirements and process for posters and oral presentations
I. General Requirements (All submissions must include):
- Title of the research presentation
- Authors
- Abstract (250 word limit)
- Selection of 2-3 research areas that could be potentially used to place your presentation into topic sessions. (Poster sessions will be grouped separately.)
NOTE:
- Please do not use all capital letters in the abstract title.
- Do not repeat the title in the body of the abstract
- Do not use degree titles in your name.
II. Specific Information for the Abstract:
- Purpose/Introduction: This includes the rationale for the study, research question and objectives of the study.
- Methods/Materials: Includes a brief description of technique, research design, models of inquiry and sources of data.
- Results: Summarized data or outcomes, including quantitative statistical significance or qualitative descriptions of outcomes/inquiries.
- Conclusions: Includes a brief interpretation of the results and implications to your field of study.
III. Important Notes:
- The online process guides you through these requirements and will alert you if your submission is not complete.
- Changes can be made to abstract submissions until the deadline of 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012.
- Both oral and poster presentations will be judged by a panel of volunteer faculty members.
- Presenters should use Internet Explorer when submitting your abstract. Otherwise, the abstract might be truncated and/or not formatted correctly.
NEW RULE: Presenters MUST be at their poster during the scoring session to receive an award..
