The office of Technology Transfer, Intellectual Property & Commercialization has been established to enhance the research capacity of the University of Kansas and facilitate the transfer of technology from the university to the commercial marketplace for the public good. Some of the services provided by the office include:
- Present workshops and seminars on the technology transfer process.
- Work with faculty to identify research inventions that may be developed into beneficial commercial products.
- Work with faculty to protect inventions through the patenting, copyright, trademark and trademark processes.
- Market inventions available for licensing from the University.
- Promote collaborative research agreements with industrial sponsors.
- Negotiate option, license, confidentiality and material transfer agreements related to the protection and use of university inventions/intellectual property.
