- Applicant may submit the application via the NIH LRP Website, http://www.lrp.nih.gov.
- Applicant must indicate on the application that the authorized Institutional Official is Dr. Thomas Noffsinger, Vice Chancellor for Research Administration, email address SPA@kumc.edu.
- A copy of the application shall be sent to Sponsored Program Administration for file.
- NIH will notify the institutional official for assurances verification when an application is approved.
- Sponsored Program Administration (SPA) will send an email to the mentor and the department chair person to certify the following items:
- the institutional base salary of the applicant name in Section 1 is supported by a non-profit foundation, non-profit professional society, or other non-profit institution that is exempt from Federal tax under the provisions of Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code, or a Federal agency
- the applicant will engage in qualified clinical research for 50% or more of his/her work effort (a minimum of 20 hours per week)
- the applicant will be provided the necessary time and resources to engage in the named research project for two years from the date a LRP contract is executed
- the named research project complies with applicable Federal, state and local laws (e.g., applicable human subject protection regulations) and is not research for which funding is prohibited by Federal law. I further certify that the applicant's annual income or compensation is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I am aware that any false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements or claims may subject me to criminal, civil, or administrative penalties
- Sponsored Program Administration will certify the “institutional base salary” for the applicant and forward all the required certification of assurances to NIH electronically.
