Chancellors Club Research Award

The Chancellors Club Research Award is presented to an individual in recognition of exceptional achievements that have had significant and long-term impact on a research field. The research should have profoundly affected later development of a field or represent a productive record of significant research. The research is expected to be of national and/or international interest. Excluding previous winners, all faculty who have had appointments at the University of Kansas Medical Center for a least four (4) years are eligible for the award (which carries with it a $10,000 remuneration). Selection of the Chancellors Club Research Award will be based on the following non-ranked criteria:

1. Publication of research in peer-reviewed journals;
2. Federal grant support;
3. Presentations and invited lectures to major national or international scientific congresses or prestigious
   academic institutions;
4. Peer recognition in the form of elected offices in professional societies, memberships on journal
   editorial boards, membership on national and international committees (e.g., study sections,
   consultantships, etc.);
5. Previous recognition as a recipient of honors and awards from national organizations and/or other
   prestigious academic institutions;
6. Training of graduate students and fellows who have made significant independent scientific
   contributions.

The selected recipient will be announced at the annual meeting of the Chancellors Club in Lawrence in October. The recipient will be honored at the KUMC Faculty Research Day, which is held each year usually the 1st or 2nd week in November. Past winners of this award are not eligible, but previous winners of the Faculty Research Investigator Award are eligible.

Submission of Materials: The nominating material should include:

1. The candidate's complete current curriculum vitae;
2. A concise 1–2 page statement of the nominee's research accomplishments. [This statement should be made by the nominator(s) and is of critical importance in evaluating the application's merits. It should be based on material contained within the CV but is intended as a supplement];
3. A copy of the candidate's most significant publications (five maximum); and
4. Two letters from scientific peers outside the University of Kansas system.

The two letters of support should be submitted separately and MUST reach Greg Kopf, PhD, Associate Vice
