HAROLD N. GODWIN
Harold N. Godwin, RPh, MS, FASHP, graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and later received his master's degree in hospital pharmacy from Ohio State University in Columbus.  Concurrently with graduate work, he completed a two-year residency at The Ohio State University Hospital.

Mr. Godwin is Professor and Chairmen of the Pharmacy Practice Department at the KU School of Pharmacy and serves as associate dean of pharmacy for Medical Center Affairs.  He stepped down from the Director of Pharmacy position at the University of Kansas Hospital after 34 years in May 2004.  Mr. Godwin has served on the Board of Director's of the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education, serving as president from 1992 through 1996, and is a past president of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Kansas Pharmacists Association and the Greater Kansas City Society of Hospital Pharmacists.  He has been recognized many times for his contributions to pharmacy, receiving awarding including the Clifton J. Latiolais Award, the Harvey A.K. Whitney award and the John W. Webb Lecture Award.

Dedicating his professional career to developing leaders in the profession of pharmacy, the first graduate of the KU Medical Center administrative residency program entered the workforce in 1970, and 93 masters and residency students have followed.  His vision led to Joyce Generali launching the Drug Information Specialty Residency program in 1993, and the start of the Community Pharmacy Residency Program, in 1999, which is directed by Janelle Ruisinger.
