Position Description
The Care Manager works closely with the Clinical Director providing ongoing mental health services to students and supports Counseling and Consultation Service’s staff through planning, implementing and coordinating resources based on individual student and staff needs. The goal of this position is to promote the continuity of care through coordinating, collaborating and advocating based on students’ needs. The Care Manager coordinates care with students receiving services from Student Health Services and CCS; assists CCS staff with the hospitalization process, discharge planning, follow-ups, and coordination of other services; establishes, maintains and coordinates relationships with OSU services such as the Wexner Medical Center and other campus organizations that would assist with students’ needs; consults with other staff to discuss resources; consults with students to determine their needs and best course of treatment; provides transitional support to referring therapist and clients in need of referral to community services; maintains community referral resources; acts as liaison and coordinates between CCS and community referral sources, including hospitals, private practitioners, clinics, psychiatry, and other mental health agencies while maintaining a database of community referral resources.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field or Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field; licensure in the State of Ohio in professional discipline within 18 months of hire; considerable clinical casework experience in therapy; supervised internship or work equivalent experience in university counseling center, mental health agency, or related professional setting; experience providing psychotherapy, diagnostic assessment and outreach; demonstrated commitment to multiculturalism and diversity.

University Description
Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) is a department within the Office of Student Life with the purpose of providing counseling and mental health services to the Ohio State University campus. The mission of CCS is to promote the personal well-being and academic success of students by providing comprehensive individual and group mental health services, psychoeducational prevention and outreach programming. The staff includes twenty-five senior staff (psychologists, psychiatrists, professional counselors, and social workers), four contract staff (including a part-time dietician), twenty trainees, and ten administrative support staff.

Counseling and Consultation Service is housed on the 4th floor of the state-of-the-art Younkin Success Center. The Success Center was designed to provide a variety of offices to support students’ success at Ohio State. The other offices comprising the Success Center are: 1) Career Connection (a centralized career counseling office and a Career Resource Center); 2) the Student Athlete Support Services office; 3) the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (an educational teaching and learning support office); and 4) the Walter E. Dennis Learning Center, which includes a state of the art academic learning lab.

The Center also operates a satellite clinic on campus in conjunction with the Counselor Education and School Psychology programs. The satellite clinic is open full time during the academic year.
