University counseling center based position. Must be a generalist with significant interest and experience in working with students of color. General responsibilities include diagnosis and treatment of academic, vocational, emotional, personal, social, professional, and peer relationship problems. Incumbent will be expected to provide instruction, training, and supervision to graduate students, interns, and other staff members; provide consultation and training to University faculty, staff, and students; as well as organize outreach activities, such as workshops, seminars on mental health topics.
Completion of all coursework in a doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and completion of an APA accredited internship program by the start of position. Completion of all doctoral degree requirements in counseling or clinical psychology within 6 months of start date required. Licensed as a psychologist in New York State or license eligible within one year of hire. Must be a generalist with significant interest and experience in working with students of color.
At least one year of university or college counseling center experience. Significant experience working with individuals with persistent mental illness. Clinical interest and experience in working with student athletes.
