Position Description
The Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD) at the University of Delaware seeks two psychologists for full-time, 12-month positions. We are seeking strong generalists with a passion for working with college students. The successful candidates will have demonstrated skills and interest in the following: individual therapy, group therapy, training/supervision, outreach, and consultation.

Minimum Qualifications
Completed doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology, with an internship in a college or university counseling center. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in college counseling, excellent clinical skills, sensitivity to diversity, and a commitment to campus involvement. Successful completion of a background check required.

Desired Qualifications
Satisfactory completion of a postdoctoral fellowship or relevant post-degree experience in a college or university counseling center. Currently licensed or license eligible as a psychologist. Experience in the multiple functions of a comprehensive counseling center as well as experience and interest in working with under-represented populations, utilizing a brief therapy model and crisis intervention.

University Description
The University of Delaware is a State-assisted institution, offering courses in a broad range of disciplines, including three associates programs, 146 bachelor’s programs, 119 master’s programs, 58 doctoral programs, and 15 joint degree graduate programs. Fall 2012 enrollment totaled 21,856 which included 17,484 undergraduates, 3,654 graduate students, and 781 professional and continuing studies students.

First semester begins in September, the second in February; a five-week winter session intervenes. there are two summer sessions of five weeks each.

Region Description
The University is in Newark, a pleasant community of about 30,000. It is 14 miles from Wilmington, Delaware’s largest city and halfway between New York and Washington, D.C. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a one-hour drive to the north and Baltimore, Maryland, one hour to the south. Delaware, New Jersey, and Maryland ocean beaches are less than two hours drive; the mountains of Maryland and Pennsylvania, which each offer four-season activities including boating, hiking, fishing, and skiing, are within a few hours drive from campus.
