The Wellness Center supports the holistic development of University of South Florida, St. Petersburg (USFSP) community by providing a comprehensive array of professional services. Our services are provided to assist the USFSP community in achieving and maintaining balanced living in regards to physical, emotional, vocational and relational functioning, with an emphasis on collaboration, prevention, and wellness. The Center staff is composed of licensed psychologists, graduate trainees, nurses, health educator, and an administrative assistants. The Center is housed within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services. The Center provides counseling, medical, and health promotion services. We also provide , crisis intervention, consultations and training, assessment and referrals. The Center also maintains a practicum training program and advises a Peer Educator group.
Provide direct mental health services to the university community. Coordinate and implement outreach efforts to increase awareness of health and wellness issues. Participate in training and supervision of psychology trainees. Assist Director with Center administration and Division activities
Provide direct services regarding mental health counseling for the campus community. Provide assessment and referral, crisis intervention, individual, couple and group therapy . Responsible for abiding by state, federal and professional privacy and confidentiality standards to ensure the Center’s compliance with state, national and institutional guidelines regarding confidentiality, privacy and the provision of treatment as well as record maintenance.
Assists the director in the development and implementation of the practicum training program at USF St. Petersburg’s Wellness Center. Provides clinical supervision to trainees through both individual and group supervision. Assist Director in implementing and evaluating the Center?s psychology training program.
Provide direct outreach, training, and consultation services to campus community. Act as the liaison to campus departments with regards to mental health issues on campus. Assist Director with organizing policies and procedures that may impact the provision and documentation of mental health outreach programming
Assist and participate in Student Affairs and/or USFSP initiatives as requested and needed (e.g., orientation, commencement, committees, and special events).
Provide administrative oversight of the immunization process conducted through the Wellness Center.
Provide clinical oversight of the Center?s data management system. This will include managing appropriate use of technology, recordkeeping, quality assurance, and record disposal
Assist the campus community in the role of crisis management, by being a member of the Emergency Operations Team and functioning as a primary liaison for the Wellness Center in such cases. Will also act as the back-up for the Director for Student of Concern issues
Assist the Director with other administrative functions as needed (e.g., strategic planning, data assessment and analysis, policy/procedures, training). Acts as the Director’s designee during any absence.
This position requires a doctorate in psychology from an accredited college or university, which includes one year of supervised internship experience in professional psychology. This position requires licensure as a psychologist by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490, Florida Statutes. One year of college counseling experience
Two years experience in college counseling setting
Experience with the following: group therapy, supervision, outreach/consultation, crisis management.
Comfortable with electronic health records and working with diverse populations
