Counseling and Psychological Services
Ohio University Counseling and Psychological Services Center seeks a full time psychologist for August, 2014 to join an exciting team of professionals who have a dual mission of training and service excellence. Counseling and Psychological Services provides individual, group, and couples counseling as well as outreach and consultation to the Ohio University main and regional campuses. This is a twelve month staff position at Ohio University Counseling and Psychological Services. Candidates should be well prepared to work with a full range of mental health challenges including mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, personality disorders, ADHD, and post-traumatic stress illnesses. Familiarity with the treatment of eating disorders is especially desirable. Candidates should have a strong interest and experience in doing group therapy as well as experience doing crisis intervention, assessment and psycho-educational programming.
Participating in supervision of masterís and doctoral trainees and interns is essential. Multi-cultural competence and experience providing counseling services to diverse populations including students of color, international students, non-traditional students, veterans, and LGBTQ students is highly expected. Must be willing to assist with after hours cell phone rotation. Consulting with faculty and staff on issues relevant to student educational performance and their emotional well-being is expected.
This twelve month position requires a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program conferred by the time of an appointment. Candidates must be licensed in the State of Ohio within the first twelve months of employment.
At least one year of post-doctoral experience is preferred.
