Position Description
Drew University’s McClintock Center for Counseling and Psychological Services has an opening for a full-time Postdoctoral Psychology Trainee for the academic year of 2012-2013. The chosen individual will be responsible for assessing the needs of the undergraduate, graduate, and theology graduate students coming for counseling, providing individual and group counseling, and engaging in outreach (workshops and presentations with a focus on education, increasing awareness, and prevention). Opportunities to work with a wide range of presenting problems and levels of psychopathology, including normal developmental and relational issues, eating disorders, mood and anxiety problems, early psychotic breaks, and drug and alcohol issues. A background in working with a diverse population and multicultural issues is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.

Desired Qualifications
Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.; experience with developmental issues of college students, some crisis work, interest in both psychotherapy and community psychology.

University Description
Drew University is a small, liberal arts university, (less than an hour from Manhattan by rail) in Madison, New Jersey with about 1700 undergraduates and 900 graduate students. Most clients are undergraduates from the College of Liberal arts which has 50 areas of study and 3 pre-professional programs, and emphasizes close mentoring relations between faculty and students. Clients are diverse socioeconomically and ethnically, though many are traditionally college aged. The university is very generous with financial aid and many clients are from populations that traditionally could not afford private college or therapy.

Region Description
Madison is a thriving small town in northern New Jersey. Approximately 30 minutes from New York City. Less than an hour on public transit. 10 minutes from Morristown.
