Position Summary
The Health and Counseling Center (HCC) offers a broad array of services to a diverse student body, including individual psychotherapy, urgent care, psychopharmacological consultations and maintenance, campus liaison, outreach and mental health education, wellness programming; as well as community referral services. We are seeking a clinician with specialist focus in one or more of the following areas:
● substance abuse and motivational interviewing,
● group programming,
● cognitive behavioral and/or mindfulness approaches to treating anxiety and/or difficulties with attention and focus.

The staff psychologist will provide direct clinical service such as assessment, psychotherapy, crisis intervention and case management, group work and after hours on call responsibilities. Evening hours, outreach programming and supervision of trainees will also be required.

This is a part time .5fte, exempt position, working 24 hours per week over 10 months, August through May. This position involves after hours and weekend work, as well as being on-call 2-3 weeks a semester. Starting pay is $40,783.50 per year. Reed College offers a benefits package that is unparalleled. Essential Functions
● Provide direct clinical services such as intake/assessments, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, crisis intervention and case management
● Supervision of psychology trainees, including pre-doctoral and post-doctoral level trainees
● Development and implementation of education and prevention programming and intervention initiatives based on a specific area of clinical focus
● Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team regarding clinic coordination, policies and procedures and long term strategic planning

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
● Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program
● A license (or license eligible) as a Psychologist in Oregon
● Minimum of three years clinical experience in a university counseling center
● Previous supervisory experience of psychology trainees
● Experience working with a range of diagnoses and mental health needs, particularly with individuals with complex clinical issues
● Two years of licensure with eligibility to supervise post-doctoral residents in psychology is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
● Strong core skills in individual psychotherapy, brief therapy, risk assessment and crisis intervention
● Demonstrated multicultural competence and commitment to multicultural organizational development and training
● Possess a significant and sophisticated understanding of current and emerging college-age mental health issues with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with college-age populations, international students, parents and college administrators
● Strong administrative, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
● The capacity to function in a busy clinic with multiple competing needs, where priorities may change at short notice
