Counseling Professional II-Staff Psychologist

This position will perform functionally as the Coordinator of Clinical Services, working with the
Director and Assistant Director to ensure the provision of effective clinical services,
including oversight of the practicum training and group counseling programs. This position will
serve as the primary liaison with the Veterans Resource Center, which includes
coordinating referrals and providing counseling services to student veterans. All CPS
clinicians provide direct clinical services to a diverse student body seeking assistance with
personal, social, academic, career and other more severe mental health concerns.
Counselors conduct initial assessments, walk-in triage, individual, group and couples
counseling to KSU students. All clinicians are required to facilitate a therapy or
psycho-educational group each semester. This position will also include the provision of crisis
assessment and intervention during day-time and after hours on-call as assigned. Counselors
create and maintain client records (complete case notes, assessments, tracking forms,
release of information forms, referral forms) according to standards of the profession and
maintain compliance with all federal, state and university policies and procedures. All CPS
clinicianís also participate in the centerís outreach and prevention efforts.
Additionally, all CPS staff members contribute to the other areas of Student Success Services
and campus functions to include advising, orientation and other duties as assigned by the
Director and/or Department Head. Attendance at weekly departmental staff and clinical
meetings is required.
Licensed Psychologist with experience in a college or university
counseling center. Applicants should have experience working with veterans and/or trauma
survivors. Strong applicants will be knowledgeable about current trends in college counseling,
including short-term and group-focused treatment models. Additionally, the most qualified
applicants will be creative, team oriented, highly organized, dependable and able to function at
a high-level with minimal supervision.
Psychologist who has been licensed at least 3 years and has worked in a IACS accredited center with an APA pre-doctoral internship program.
