Psychological Services provides mental health services to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. The Psychotherapist provides direct clinical services, including diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention, brief therapy, referral, and on-call services. The Psychotherapist also participates in psycho-educational activities and provides consultation to faculty and staff. The department operates with a strong team-based orientation; staff members work together to provide service to students in need. This is a full-time, 10 months / year continuous position.
-Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology plus two years post-internship experience; or Master’s in Social Work (MSW) plus 5 years post-degree experience.
-Licensure as either a Psychologist or Clinical Social worker in the State of Rhode Island. (Current licensure in another state and eligibility for licensure in RI will also meet this requirement.)
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
-Experience working with young adults / college students in a mental health setting.
-Experience working with individuals with significant mental illness.
-Psycho-educational programming experience.
