Responsibilities of position are assigned 90% to the SUNY Upstate Student Counseling service. This obligation includes: major clinical responsibilities in providing services to students, supervision of student cases and outreach on the Campus. Must participate in professional organizations and conferences whose aims include furtherance of counseling, psychotherapy, student mental health and medical education.
The remaining 10% obligation will be to the Department of Psychiatry. These responsibilities include: supervision and of psychology interns and psychiatry residents’ clinical work; teach psychology interns and psychiatry residents about relevant topics; assist with psychology intern recruitment.
The ideal candidate must have a strong interest and experience in working with students as well as individuals in the community.
Ph.D./Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program and 1-2 years of experience in a clinical/counseling (preferably student counseling) position required.
NYS licensed psychologist preferred.
