Post Doctoral or Post-Internship Trainee (2 positions)

$31,269 for ten months (plus benefits)
The Counseling and Psychiatric Service of Georgetown University is offering two positions for post-internship training in Clinical or Counseling Psychology for the academic year starting September 2014 extending through June 2015. The program provides training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and evaluation as well as mental health consultation in a multi-disciplinary university setting. Substantial amounts of supervision are provided (approximately 5 hours per week) with a focus on psychodynamic approaches. Time is allotted for completion of the dissertation or other research projects.
Candidates must have completed an internship and all requirements for a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, except dissertation.

The Georgetown business district is a bustling center of activity with substantial shopping opportunities, restaurants, clubs, and an active waterfront. The Georgetown residential area near the University retains an 18th and 19th century charm with old-fashioned townhouses and brick sidewalks.
Historically, Georgetown was a thriving Maryland tobacco port in the 1700ís. When the District of Columbia was carved out of Maryland and Virginia, Georgetown was included within the Districtís boundaries. The City of Washington, originally a separate village within the District, grew into and annexed Georgetown in the 1800ís.
Washington, D.C., is about two hours from Atlantic coast beaches and about two hours from the mountains in Virginia and West Virginia.
